The ordination and induction of Andrew Robertson will take place at St Peter’s Free Church, Dundee on the 1st September at 7:30 pm. Rev. David Court is due to preach and preside over the service. Andrew, the son of former Free Church Moderator Rev. David Robertson, is a graduate of Edinburgh Theological Seminary and will be leading a new church plant with his wife Caireen in the Charleston area of Dundee. Until now, Charleston has been devoid of an evangelical Christian church that serves the local community. With a passion for church planting and a call to ministry, Andrew believes he is well suited and equipped to take up the role. “Caireen and I have a long had a desire to do this and we have already moved into the area to get settled and to begin to get to know the people of Charleston." "Charleston is considered an area of urban deprivation with around 60% of its population living as part of the 15% most deprived people in Scotland." "However, the biggest tragedy about the area is that there is not one evangelical church witness in Charleston. We know that a lot of people in housing schemes are likely to stay there most of their lives and we believe passionately that God's plan A for the evangelisation of this nation and the spread of his glory is through his local church." "To that end, we hope and pray that God will raise up a gospel centred church through the work we will start in Charleston that will proclaim the gospel, love the community and bring honour to the name of Jesus." All are welcome to attend, refreshments will be available at the end of the service.
