About Us

Malcolm Maclean grew up in Inverness. He became a Christian in 1973 through the open-air witness of a Christian Brethren assembly and was with them for several years.

Having been born and raised on the Isle of Lewis. Going to church was always something we did. My parents at that time were unbelieving but nonetheless held Christian values and beliefs in the family home.

At one time, Greyfriars Free church was a city centre congregation in Inverness. About fifteen years ago, the congregation moved to the south of Inverness, to a location that has two large urban communities on its doorstep.

I had the privilege of being brought up in a Christian home on the Island of Lewis. Family worship was held morning and evening, I attended church twice on the Lord’s Day, and was fortunate to hear often in our home some able Christian men in deep discussion and debate about Christian matters.
